What to Do After an Interview
After the interview, follow these essential steps to leave a positive impression and
maintain momentum:
1. Express Gratitude: Sending a sincere thank-you note or email demonstrates professionalism
and appreciation for the opportunity to interview.
2. Connect on LinkedIn: Connect with the interviewers on LinkedIn and personalize your
connection request with a brief message expressing your appreciation for the opportunity to
meet and your interest in staying connected.
3. Reflect and Take Notes: Reflect on the interview experience and jot down any key insights
or observations while they’re fresh in your mind. Documenting your thoughts can help you
evaluate your performance, identify areas for improvement, and prepare for future interviews.
Here’s a sample of a thank you email:
“I want to extend my gratitude for the opportunity to interview for the (insert job title) role earlier today. It
was a pleasure discussing how my skills and experiences align with the requirements and I am even more
enthusiastic about the possibility of joining (insert company name).
(Company name)’s commitment to (insert specific point mentioned in interview) stood out to me. I am
eager to contribute to the team’s success. Please feel free to reach out to me if you need any further
information. Thank you once again for considering my application.”
